National Art School, Sydney
Flow is an experiment in activating an architectural and light filled space through fabric and colour. The work was made by attaching the fabric to points of suspension that already existed in the space. This is a drawing in the expanded field, tracing the presence of other artist’s use of this space within the National Art School. The fabric draws physical traces through the room of past work, allowing the viewer to experience the history of the room as an art-making space.
This is part of a larger series of work including the installation ‘Soar’, preparatory tissue works and subsequent drawings. A continued red theme draws bold lines through space, alluding to the body through its connection to blood in colour.
